It was the summer of 2017, and we had just wrapped production on Uber’s US marketing efforts for Pride when a new request came in. The ask was to create images that can be used globally for any and all messaging that wasn’t specific to the greater campaign. In about a week, we brainstormed and acquired the materials needed, and booked a studio for this shoot.
The concept was simple: the white square (Uber’s bit) symbolizes the Uber brand, and the rainbow objects intertwine the LGBTQ+ community. We highlighted something as recognizable as the Pride flag, but also included a rainbow boa, tutu, and confetti to connect with other aspects of Pride celebrations.
Images were shot practically in Brooklyn, NY.
